A newly composed Australian English TTS-Pro voice, to be used with the latest Primo Android version. Please try out and discuss here if there is any problem.
You need to have TTS engine and TTS voice (eg, SVOX/Victoria, IVONA/Nicole, Google TTS Engine, etc) in your system. The TTS voice is properly selected in the system settings (-Settings/Language&input/Speech-TTS-output/Preferred Engine) before running Primo.
The voice could be any English speaking one (not necessarily Australian), but must comply with your system's language setting (for example, you may not be able to activate the voice if your system language is set to French. Tested OK when UK or Aus is set as system language, not sure if it’s in US). Just put the zip file (do not unzip) in iGO or Primo’s.
Content voice folder, then select thru -More/Settings/Sound and Warnings/Voice Language 3. Using this file, all features of TTS Pro in Primo can be selected/enabled. This voice file is gender neutral, ie, voice in Male or Female is set according to your system’s voice.
Some additions are made to suit Australian conditions, eg, Sbnd is pronounced as “South Bound” instead of just spelled out as “S-b-n-d”; detour announcement is also available. Proper pronounciation on Street/area names depends on the TTS Engine and has nothing to do with this voice file.
For example, in using Google TTS engine, Waverly is pronounced as “Wah-were-ly”, not “Way-fer-ly” and Stephenson as “Step-hen-son”, not “Ste-ven-son”. Both SVOX/Victoria and IVONA/Nicole provide ‘correct’ pronunciations so far. EDIT (11 Aug 2013): Another version of Aus TTS Pro: You are not allowed to view links. It is reported elsewhere that Primo's voices (both simple and TTS) have problem with the latest 4.1.1 JellyBean. It's a problem with the OS, not Primo or this voice file. The problem is Primo's compatibility with JB. Somehow all voices are muted in Primo/JB. If you press the volume up/down key, you may be able to hear some sound.
Igo Primo Navigation
It may be a small problem waiting to be fixed by Navngo. Android is known to have compatibility problem when upgrading. It's downward compatibility is not so good in a way. It's not only Primo having this problem. Like SVOX has problem when migrating from 3.xxx to 4.xxx (now fixed but older version still incompatible), and Loquendo can work in 2.xxx -3.xxx, but not 4.xxx.

I still heave problems that on N roads, system stills says the road number instead of the road name. Do you know what the 1 2 and 3 are refering to? @ jashars In iGO8 they were in ' content voice voicexxxxxxxx.zip' files. Would be the same in Primo. But again, I'm talking about WIN CE based installs. For instance in iGO8 v8.3.5.193799, you will find it in ' content voice VoiceEng-aus-f2.zip' file under 'audio' sub-folder, as 'haveanicetripdrivecarefully.ogg' for Australian female voice.
The same for other 'voicexxxxxxxx.zip' files. Confucius say: Man seek advice in PM, deprive other of wisdom Man not do backup, himself deprive of wisdom. ( 12:01 AM)jashars Wrote: You are not allowed to view links. How can I edit this text to my own?
You can edit any contents of the TTS file if you know the structure and composition of the files in the voice zip. I used the latest Eng-UK TTS Pro, modify it with Aus map usage/settings, and convert to this Aus TTS Pro. Briefly, I use Winrar to unzip the voice zip file. To edit info.ini which contains the key descriptions, I use notepad.
But please ensure that you save the modified file in Unicode, otherwise it will not be recognised. For all other commands/details, they are contained in.lua files in. Although you may change the contents to suit your particular need, you have to study the contents and make sure you understanding what they mean and how they are presented. I use WORD as the default text-editor for these.lua files because they are encoded in Unicode (UTF-8). Of course you may use any other text-formatter to modify the lua files, but ensure to save them back in the same encoding, ie, UTF-8. For some pre-defined phrases, like 'Route Summary', TTS can pronounce it if the map/process (like TMC events) has such output.
You can edit such phrases in. I18n dictionary.voice. It is in Unicode; when you save it back, ensure to save in the same encoding. Because of the larger size, I also use WORD as the default editor. Pdf cerita bergambar. You have to save back all edited files back to the zip file. I also use Winrar for this purpose.

I just tried the same as you write down here: Firstable I just want to change text in testsound in info.ini file: ' Hello, have a nice trip, drive carefully.' To ' Hi, have a nice trip, drive carefully.'
First step I did was un zipped VoiceTTSPro-eng-au-Android.rar, 2. Then I opened info.ini with notepad, 3. Next I edited word 'Hello' to 'Hi' in testsound, 4. Then I clicked Save as, choosen All files and Encoding - Unicode, and finally saved as info.ini and replaced the old one, 5. Then I selected all files and folders which was on VoiceTTSPro-eng-au-Android.rar and add to archive with the same name( VoiceTTSPro-eng-au-Android.rar), 6. Finally I moved archive to Android SD card/iGo/content/voice After opening iGO app it shows the error - Unsupported voice file! And saving file to Zip archive, it kicks out of programm.
Even trying to edit info.ini in archive it shows the same error. I really don't have idea how can I edit text in TTS file. Am I doing something wrong? By the way, without editing it works perfectly, but I want to change text.
First of all, sorry for my english. I know thats not so good, but I think you can understand it In this guide I'll teach how to install almost any TTS language (non-robotic) so your device can read things in your native language without problems. 1) Plug your device on computer and create a folder named VocalizerEx 2) Download and install on your device the attached APK 3) Visit and download your language. It will be better if you download Premium High 3) Rename that file adding.zip at the end and open it 4) Extract all files and folders of the zip to this folder (created on Step 1) (Now you can unplug your device) 5) On your device, go to Settings Language and Input Text-to-speech output and then select VocalizerEx TTS Done, now your device speaks your language! Please, hit THANKS if it helped you.

Sorry, but it didn't work on AOSB KitKat. I have several folder (dun, eng, frf, ged.) in the ExtSdCard VocalizerEx folder, installed the APK.
I can select VocalizerEx TTS in the text output, but in the settings the language selection is disabled. So, I tried to change the Voice data folder in the settings to the folder I put the voices in. Still, it didn't work, even after selecting another engine and back to reinitialize the VocalizerEx TTS engine. Can anyone help me with this? Edit: Got it working, somehow the appplication doesn't look for the correct folder, despite the possibility to put the voice data on SD card. Now I have to get iGo with Dutch TTS voice going with this - strange thing is that iGo ONLY works when the Google TTS engine with English language is selected.
If not, there is no way to select a TTS voice in iGo. I agree, these voices are great! I've been looking for tts this good for months and just randomly found this thread. Works perfect on LOS 14.1. Just wanted to share some findings for future readers.
You can hear samples of these voices here:. After finding that page, I noticed that some of the better english voices (e.g. English-uk malcolm and oliver) weren't available at the vocalizer-nvda site originally mentioned. As discussed here:, those voices are found elsewhere and need a more recent version of the apk. In that thread, they provide a link to a zip that contains the more recent apk and a few additional files needed here: Once you extract the zip and install the apk, create a 'VocalizerEx2' dir in your main user dir (should be /storage/emulated/0) and copy the 'languages/common' dir from the zip to that dir.
You can then download the newer voices from here:. Choose your language and hit apply as not all the voices they have are in the list first shown. Download the voices you want and as with the original instructions, add a.zip extension to the downloaded file(s), extract, and copy the contents into the VocalizerEx2 dir you created. You can have multiple voices in that dir that you select by changing the language within the android tts settings for the 'VocalizerEx2 TTS' engine. Also, just as a final note, there is an app called 'Vocalizer TTS Voice (English)' in the play store that provides/uses the same voices but is a different app and not what you want.
Hello everyone, This is not my first post on this issue. Sorry for the long post, but I am sick of this issue.
I have an Eonon G2110F head unit - RK3188 / MCU: MTCB-KLD2-V2.67 / KitKat 4.4.4. It is stock (with only simple 'factory setting' root). This is the 'universal model'.
Everything functions correctly. But I have an issue only with part of the GPS function. I have a confirmed 'good' iGO Primo version from a reputable GPS forum (v2.4+). I have installed it with maps/pio, regular voices, and TTS voices on my phone and tables. It work 100% correct, the way it is supposed to (both when installed to internal memory and external memory).
Igo Primo Android Tts Pro Voices
What I am specifically testing for is how my phone and table function when I am playing music at the same time that the GPS is running (on both the stock mp3 player or Poweramp player). When I set iGO Primo to use its regular voices, the music mutes when the GPS announces directions, then the music un-mutes once the announcement finishes. This is 100% correct. When I set iGO Primo to use its TTS Pro voices (using the Android default TTS engine), the music mutes when the GPS announces directions (which now include street names), then the music un-mutes once the announcement finishes. This is 100% correct. So as you can see, my iGO Primo build is a good correct working version. However, I can not say the same thing when I install the same iGO version on my head unit (on the GPS card slot).
Overall the app works. Both the regular voices and the TTS voices work and announce directions correctly. But once I am playing music at the same time, that is when the issue starts (regardless if its the radio / stock mp3 player or Poweramp / iPod / CD - I have tested them all).
When I set iGO Primo to use its regular voices, the music mutes when the GPS announces directions, then the music un-mutes once the announcement finishes. This is 100% correct., However, when I set iGO Primo to use TTS Pro voices (using the Android default TTS engine), the music does not mute when the GPS announces directions (which now include street names).
Instead, both the music and the TTS voice are playing at the same time. The TTS voice is much lower in volume and is hard to hear over the music. This is not correct. I have tried several other iGO Primo versions that are know as good working builds. These all work on my phone and tablet.
But they have the same issue on my head unit once TTS voices are used. I have even tried by installing the app to the internal memory or the external SD card slot of the head unit. I feel there is some kind of disconnect between the app and the MCU audio stream once the TTS voices are used. Remember, when the regular voices are use, the app and the MCU audio stream both work in the correct way. But as soon as I switch to use TTS voices, then the MCU audio stream does not mute when the GPS announces directions. Over the past year, I have read so much that my eyes are bleeding. I have tried almost everything.
I have even worked with senior members at the GPS forums. I am sick of this. When iGO Primo is installed on my head unit it is laughing at me to my face. So now I am ready to go 'Ninja Assassin' on it.
Is there any other solution out there to force the music to mute? Is there an Xposed module that can deal with this issue? Is there some kind of modification that need to be made (on either the app or the head unit). Otherwise, I will need a full professional developer to look at this and create a solution (for hire $$). I have seen several, several posts on the internet with similar issues - yet no solution.
So I am ready to hire someone and pay to have a solution developed (for the good of the community). Any help will be greatly appreciated. Again, sorry for the long post.
Thanks, ggee. Hello, My issues happens with any music applications. It will happen with the stock MCU music apps (Radio / iPod / CD / Music ).
And it will happen with third party music player (like Poweramp). I have had people reply before who say they have no problems. But when I ask follow up questions and dig deeper, I discover they either don't use TTS voices, or don't play any music while driving (which is why they don't know of any problems). Or I find that they run the app from their phones/tables and bluetooth the audio/screen to the head unit. There is always something different about how they use it that explains why they do not have an issue. For example, they find out that they don't really have a legitimate iGO Primo version - instead it is some generic GPS app with an iGO skin and very limited features (yes, these do exist). Can you please let me know the specs of your head unit (firmware version / MCU version / Custom Rom if any)?
- Do you have any major software modifications on the head unit? - Are you using the stock Android TTS Engine or a third party TTS Engine (like Vocalizer/Nuance)? - Can you please let me know what version of iGO Primo you have and where you got it from (check the Settings/About screen in iGO for the exact version)?
- Can you share the TTS voice file, and the sys.txt file with me (this way I can test the setting on my head unit). If you can share your whole iGO Primo build with me that would be even better (minus your maps/pio/dem/buildings files)? You can PM if you prefer that way better. I use a real iGO Primo version in a normal way, on a normal stock head unit.
That is why I am asking the above questions. I personally feel there is an issues with the MCU.img that some how causes a disconnect to the android audio stream when using an 'outside' TTS voice over the android TTS engine. By 'outside' I mean that the GPS card slot is technically a separate memory area on these head units. Since iGO Primo is running from this 'outside' memory area, it might be causing an issue, such that the MCU does not see a running TTS voice. Therefore, it does not know to mute the music (but when regular voice files are used, it somehow knows). This is what makes this so strange and freaking annoying. Thanks again for any help, ggee.
Hello, Since you 'can't' share anything Can you at least tell me what MCU version you have on your head unit? In this way, I can see if I have the latest MCU version. If your version is newer, I can at least go back to the seller and ask them to send me the same or latest version (and flash my head unit). For example, this is my version: MCU: MTCB-KLD2-V2.67 What version do you have? There are many posts on the internet where people mention some type of volume issue with iGO Primo using TTS voices. Also, can you at least tell me what forum you are referring to.
If you have specific forum/post link information that would be better. As I mentioned in my original post, I have read and been to many other forums before. I have tried many things already. This is not me trying to be lazy. But if you have a specific forum, or a specific post - can let me know what it is?
That would be of great help. Thanks, ggee. That said, the last and final information I can give you on this subject are the current firmware version of my head unit, see the attached images.
Hello, Today I received the same mcu.img version that you have (for my exact KLD2 head unit). I noticed that my stock firmware is newer than yours, but your mcu version was newer than my. Anyways, I updated the mcu to my head unit successfully. However, this has not resolved my TTS voice issue. It is acting in the same way. The music does not mute when the TTS voice on the GPS speaks.
They both play at the same time. When listening to the radio, the TTS voice volume is much lower.
When listing to MP3s on the stock MTC Music player, the TTS voice volume is about equal (the same thing when using PowerAmp, except the TTS voice volume is not as low as the radio scenario). Why Does Yours Work and My Does Not??? Anyway, This goes out to anyone else out there who is willing to actually help me with this (not just empty talk or drop their 2 cents). As I mentioned, I now believe this is an issue with the MTC side of the head unit. Something is affecting the MTC audio stream from acting properly when the TTS voice of the GPS speaks. I have tried everything I can get my hands on.
Codegear delphi 2007. Update: since this post is a few years old now and a bit out of date, I have updated the links below to the most recent versions of each software. So it is because of this that I write this post, when asked this question I ask a few simple questions. Though in light of Autodesks switch to a monthly/yearly subscriptions, AutoCAD Lt has really become much more affordable for small firms and independant drafters. Check out the options to see if a subscription might work better for you.
This is so frustrating. When I use Google Maps on the head unit, it acts 100% correct. Keep in mind that Google Maps exclusively uses the android TTS engine and TTS voices. Additionally, I have installed the same iGO on my phone, and it works 100% correct. Can someone who is an expert on the MTC function of these head units please help me??? Or can someone point me to the right person(s)??? Do not hesitate to Private Message me if you want to 'assist' me.
Anyone else., Please!!!!! Thanks, ggee.
